Advance-O-Rama is a weekend event that gives Scouts the opportunity to make progress on advancement in a single weekend. Scouts can work on Trail to First Class requirements or choose from a variety of Merit Badge classes. With dozens of merit badges available, including many Eagle-required badges, there are opportunities for Scouts of all ranks and interests.

Adults will have the opportunity to take training for Scoutmaster / Assistant Scoutmaster, Merit Badge Councelor, and Troop Committee.  Also for adults we will have fireside chats with professional scouters and members of the GGAC Executive Board.  For everyone, there will be a midway with information booths spotlighting organizations and events throughout the council.

Important dates

August 30 – Last day to register before late fees apply.
September 11 – Last day to register for the event.

Itinerary

• Troops may camp Friday and/or Saturday night, or attend on Saturday only.
• For those arriving the night before, the gates will open at 4:00pm on Friday the 18th. On Saturday the 19th, Opening Flags will be at 8:00am and the morning sessions will begin at 8:30am. Lunch will be from 12:00pm to 1:00, followed by the afternoon sessions which will end at 4:30pm.
• For those staying over on Saturday evening, departure will be no later than 10:00am on Sunday the 20th.

Meals

Meals are not provided, (Saturday breakfast and lunch for staff only) so Scouts should bring their own food, water, and any required merit badge materials.
