San Francisco National Cemetery in the Presidio
9:30 – 10:30am
Troop 415 will once again attend and help organize the Memorial Day flag planting ceremony on the Saturday before Memorial Day.
This event is always well attended by Scouts from across our District and Council. It’s a meaningful opportunity not only to earn service hours and complete certain Rank advancement requirements, but—more importantly—for Scouts to honor and learn about the sacrifices made by others in service to our country.
Troop 415 Scouts will have the honor of raising the cemetery flag at the start of the ceremony. Volunteers for this role will practice at a few Troop meetings beforehand to ensure they are well prepared. (Scouts volunteering for the flag raising should plan to arrive no later than 0915 hrs.)
As a high-profile event, this will be a Class A uniform event (merit badge sash not required).
For additional details, visit the Council’s event page. No individual registration is needed, as Jon, who coordinates the event, has already registered the Troop.
