Join us for a scenic and easy 7-mile hike from Brisbane Marina to Oyster Point Fishing Pier and back. This flat route makes it perfect for scouts of all experience levels who want to enjoy the outdoors, get some fresh air, and take in the views along the way.
What to Bring
Backpack
Scouts interested in training for backpacking should bring their backpack so we can add some weight for practice.We will provide weights and a scale so we can measure and record what everyone is hiking with.
Hiking Shoes
Although this will be a flat urban hike, it’s important for Scouts to get used to hiking with the correct gear and footwear. So come prepared with appropriate hiking shoes.
Please pack a lunch, and all the hiking essentials:
Pocketknife/Multitool:
A versatile tool for various tasks
First-Aid Kit:
For treating minor injuries
Rain Gear:
A poncho or jacket to stay dry in the rain
Water Bottle:
To stay hydrated
Extra Clothing:
An extra layer to adapt to changing weather
Flashlight:
For visibility in low-light conditions
Trail Food:
Extra snacks and energy food
Matches and Fire-Starters:
For safely building a fire
Sun Protection:
Sunscreen, a hat, or sunglasses to protect from the sun
Map and Compass:
Essential for navigation and finding your way
