Our last training hike before taking on the 58-mile trek from Sonora Pass to Carson Pass this July! This trip will include a 10-mile hike from Carson Pass to our campsite, an overnight stay, and a 10-mile return hike the following day. We plan to begin hiking at 8:00 AM. At over 8,000 feet, the goal is to help Scouts build endurance, gain confidence with longer distances, and understand how altitude can affect the body.
This trip is one of the required preparation hikes for the July PCT backpacking trip.
Itinerary
The rough plan is to leave San Francisco on Friday afternoon or very early Saturday morning to reach the trailhead and begin hiking.
